Free Math Workshop | Problems on Remainders | Zug Events

Dear Parents,

In two months, ZugZwang Academy will be completing a decade of service. What started off as a small chess class has grown in many dimensions. I thank you all for being part of this growth journey.

When you do something for a long time, you can't help but start collecting insights in the journey. And here's what's on top of my list:

Mindset matters more than technical abilities.

Don't get me wrong. Technical abilities & skills matter a lot.

However, mindset matters more.

The best way to develop a child's growth mindset is by instilling the confidence that problems are for solving. Not something to be scared of.

Every time a child solves a puzzle or a problem or a study, the confidence factor in the mind increases by a small positive delta. When this change is compounded over a long period, the impact is significant.

Popularized in Carol Dweck's seminal book, the Mindset, the growth mindset in children can make a massive difference to their future. If you haven't read it, I urge you to definitely pick this one.

Here's a quick note for those who missed my previous emails.

We've started 2022 with a new initiative called 'Zug Events'.
This is available for FREE events only to the active ZugZwang community.

Here are two more events in the Number Theory Workshop series you can join:

LCM & HCF Non-Routine Problems. Sunday 12:00 PM. Jan 23rd, 2022

Problems on Remainders. Sunday 12:00 PM. Jan 30th, 2022

Both these workshops are designed for Grade 5 & 6 students.
